January 2nd

For a while now, I've been wanting to start a blog... a new project. I find that I tend to be a little too ranty and long winded for a traditional blog, and not really consistent enough for a project blog, so I've been searching for a way to make my own way in the bloggy world. Around the same time I was thinking about that, I started putting together a calendar for my parents for Christmas and realized that most of the pictures I have of my daughter come from other people - grandparents and a good friend who also happens to be a professional photographer. I also don't have a lot of pictures of the everyday things in my life, and of the experiences I have with my family. So I decided that my goal for 2011 would be to take a picture a day for an entire year - some of me, some of my daughter and husband, some of various parts of my life. I have a horrible habit of not bringing my camera along places, a habit I need to break quickly. There may end up being a few cell phone photos though.

I don't have a fancy camera - it's a little Canon PowerShot that takes too long to "reset" between pictures. I am hoping to learn to use it a lot better this year and figure out what all the little icons on the top of the camera mean.

My name is Jen and I'm 30. My husband is Josh and our daughter is Eden, she is almost 3. We live in Ohio, and right now it is really cold and it kind of sucks.

I really hope you enjoy the blog and that I can find my voice and community here.

Picture, day 2:

Eden was having a very in depth conversation with her baby doll about what book to read. She is a very natural caretaker and it makes me happy.
